Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell with our friends last Thursday and stayed through the weekend. We had so much fun! Jane's favorite part was swimming and being with her friends. Ryan loved playing with the infinite amount of sticks on the beach. Jeff and I loved the skiing and exploring on the wave runners. Thanks Jeff and Carlie for inviting us along!

First Day of School!

Jane started preschool last week and loved it! She is going to Miss Ann's Preschool, which is a few streets away from us. She goes twice a week for about 2 hours. Tuesday was an orientation day (first pic) so I got to stay with her during that. She was a little timid at first, but then she noticed all the fun toys, so she kicked off her shoes and made herself at home. On Thursday I took her in and she became a leg-hugger. Then her teacher just asked her to show her what was in her backpack and she left me and was fine! I am so excited for her to start school. It will be nice to have a little one-on-one time with Ryan, but more than that, I just know she is going to love it! She is going to have so much fun!

Park City

We met up with my family this past weekend/week for a family reunion. We were sad Steve, Crissy, Parker, and Baby Jordan couldn't be there with us. The whole time Jane kept saying "next time will be fun with Parker." She thinks Parker and her should get to sleep in the bunk beds next year! We stayed at a house near Park City. We did alpine slides and the alpine coaster. Jane actually rode with me on both and loved it! She is always surprising me, cuz I really thought she would hate it and scream the whole time. But she kept saying "faster faster!"


We also celebrated Paul's birthday while we were there. Sarah threw him a fiesta that included mexican food, mustaches, and the limbo!



The last night we were there Jeff and I put the kids to bed and took advantage of all the free babysitters at the house! We went back to do the alpine slide and coaster together. It was so much fun to go on a date and be able to go full speed on the rides! (I took it a little easier with Jane!) I was only sad that we didn't do the zipline also . . . next year maybe!

8 Years!

Jeff and I celebrated our 8 year Anniversary yesterday! I remember when we were first married, we would always go stay at a hotel or bed & breakfast somewhere to celebrate. Now we're lucky if we make it to dinner alone! So this year we went to Snake Creek Grill in Midway. It was delicious as always, and we enjoyed a peaceful dinner where we could actually talk! No crying babies, no kid meals, no food getting thrown on us and on the floor. Sorry kids, I love you, but it sure is nice to have some alone time!

Summer

This is summer to me: chillin in the hammock, kids playing in the backyard, and bright pink toe nails! I'm always a little sad to see summer go, but always excited for a little cooler fall weather. And of course I'm excited to go to some BYU football games! I've never been crazy in love with watching football games, mostly b/c they are 2 1/2 hours too long, but I love the atmosphere and excitement of a good football game. And I know it seems like we are right in the middle of summer, but Jane is starting preschool next week so it feels like it is coming to an end. So long summer!

Congrats Jeff and DeAnne!!!

That's right, my little brother is getting married! He proposed to DeAnne (and she said yes!) about a week ago. Their wedding will be December 27th. I am so excited for them! They just seem perfect for each other. I'm proud of Jeff for taking this step and know they will be so happy together. Love you two!

Oh, my vampires!

I painfully had to wait till Tuesday afternoon to get my copy of Breaking Dawn, but it finally came and I read it and I loved it! I started out loving it, and then wasn't so sure if the book was headed in the right direction for me towards the middle. But it all came together for me in the end and I loved it! I'm going to miss those crazy vampires for a while until the movie comes out. Then my obsession can return! So my fellow vampire loving bloggers, what did ya think?

Bummer

Still no camera cord. This means I will have to go buy a new one. Which means I will have to load up the kids and take them to a non-kid friendly store. Bummer!

I just checked my email and my Breaking Dawn copy is not set to arrive until Tuesday, August 5th!!! It wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't know that others will have theirs tonight at 12:01!!! Bummer again.

I'm blogging on a Friday night cuz Jeff's in school tonight. Triple bummer!
