King's Ball and swimming lessons

Last night Jane and Jeff went to the King's Daddy Daughter Ball. It was part of the princess festival that was going on all week at Hatfieldadelphia park in Lindon. From the pictures, it looked amazing. Maybe someday I can go to a ball too!

At the Ball

They had an entertainer

Cinderella showed up to dance with her prince and then read the princesses the Cinderella story

They learned a dance and had some refreshments

Jane took pictures in all of the cutouts, but this one looked a little real

They played at the park afterwards

Jane and Ryan just finished swimming lessons. They took them at the Scera pool again. This was my first time in 4 years that I got to chill on the lounge chairs while the kids were in classes! I'll be back in the water again next year with Alex in the parent/child class. Jane and Ryan had a lot of fun and they learned a little ;) I don't know if I will ever be used to seeing swimming pictures with mountains in the background. It just seems wrong somehow.

Jane loved the sticks part

Ryan loved jumping in

He sometimes loved bubbles, but he always loved his teacher, Miss Courtney! He had a little crush on her and told me he liked her because she was so cute!

Bug Bites

Yesterday Ryan had to go to the dentist to get a crown and a filling. We were in the waiting room and the anesthesiologist came to give him the shot to make him a little loopy. His method is to distract the kids and do it while they're not looking. I'm not sure if this really works better than the up front, I'm going to give you a shot and it's going to hurt a little approach. So anyways, Ryan was picking out prizes and then the anesthesiologist was on the side of him and said, "it's just a little bug bite" and then gave him the shot. Ryan was a little surprised and didn't cry at all. Within 2 minutes he was staring off into space and not really there. It was kinda creepy. They took him back ad did all the dental work, everything was fine. When he woke up he told me, "there was a bee on me and the guy shot it!" So I'm thinking it's not really better to think that there are bees in the dentist office and they shoot them. Whatever, it was pretty funny! It was also funny to watch him try to walk when he was still a little dizzy! I'm hoping he doesn't have to be put under again for more dental work.

Summerfest and Smiley Pants

We have been going to Orem's Summerfest for 4 years now and I think it's officially a tradition. It's fun for the kids because they have a lot of kiddie rides. We always eat dinner there and go to the parade. This year it was rainy and cloudy until about 4, when we went. I think because of the weather the lines were not long at all, yea for us! AT the parade Jane loved the princesses, but she's still scared of all mascots and clowns. She finally got the candy part down though!

Alex is 5 months old now. He is a happy happy baby! Lately he only smiles with his tongue hanging out! He's just trying some new smiles, seeing which one he should go with for the rest of his life :)

(This one was seconds before the tongue came out!)

Funny Funny

Today I was taking care of Alex, so Jeff was taking care of the potatoes we were cooking for dinner. Then Jane comes in and says, "Daddy, come play with me!" Jeff told her he was helping me cook and then she said, "Moms do the cooking and Dads play with the kids." I'm so glad Jane has our family roles figured out already!

Also, Ryan has a new imaginary friend. His name is Doo Dah. He calls Doo Dah on the phone and plays basketball, soccer, baseball, and football with Doo Dah. After the "game", he always tells me, "I won and Doo Dah lost." I'm wondering if he invented Doo Dah so he would have someone to beat. Ryan kind of inherited a bit of competitiveness from his Dad :)

I feel like I need to say something funny about Alex, but Alex is mostly just cute! Although he did have quite a few of us cracking up in Sunday School today. It was quiet, we were all listening to our teacher, when Alex made the loudest poo I've ever heard! I was cracking up! I had to get it together so I could get out of there because the smell was deadly!

Happy Birthday Self!

My birthday is my absolute favorite day of the year! I always have and always will love my birthday! I wasn't sure if i would love this one since it's the first birthday that I am turning old, but shocker, I still love it! So in honor of turning 30, here are 30 things I love:

1-Jeff. Hands down, best husband/dad in the world and only person I could ever still be in love with

2- Jane. She is the sweetest, most thoughtful and beautiful girl and I am so proud she's my daughter

3- Ryan. I have never seen a cuter, sillier, funnier little boy and I can't imagine life without him

4- Alex. Best. Baby. Ever. His smiles warm my heart.

5- Family. I have to lump everyone else together or else all 30 things would be the amazing people in my life. I have the best family. I love them so much and think everyone should be jealous of how fun they are

6- Friends. I have the most amazing friends that I couldn't get through life without, at least I couldn't get through life and have as much fun doing it!

7- Summer. I love it when the weather gets warm enough to be outside and want to go. . .

8- Swimming. I love being in the water, maybe it's because I'm so much lighter in there ;)

9- Dancing. I have always loved dancing and always will love dancing, but I'm sad that I can no longer go dancing :( I have to settle for the gym and my living room as my stage.

10- Cologne. I love smelling cologne. I love it when Jeff runs out of it and I get to go choose a new one for him. And I love the one I gave him for his birthday yesterday :)

11- Bakeries. I love everything in them and I am glad they exist to help satisfy my incredibly huge sweet tooth

12- Chocolate and Peanut Butter. The world's best combination

13- Shopping. I love shopping for clothes for me when clothes fit me, and clothes for the kids when clothes don't fit me

14- Books. I love getting lost in a good book. I will stay up way too late and skip all my favorite TV shows for a good book.

15- Jane Austen. She gets her own # because she wrote the best books and inspired me to read

16- Flowers. They are so beautiful and just make my day a little brighter

17- Beaches. I haven't been to one in a while, but I love relaxing on the beach (especially with a good book)

18- Gospel. Hope it's not a bad sign that it's #18, but you know. I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the happiness it gives me to live it

19- Laughing. As I type my kids are taking turns wrapping themselves up for me to open. They make me laugh

20- Music. It can change my mood in an instant and I love the power it has

21- Nature. I love going on walks, hiking and biking and just being outside and enjoying everything God created

22- High School. It provided me with some of the best times of my life

23- College. It provided me with the other best times of my life, oh, and an education :)

24- Teaching. I didn't know how much I would love it and I am so glad I did it

25- Tina Fey. She's hilarious and you know how much I love laughing

26- Cafe Rio pork salad with black beans, shredded lettuce, house dressing, hold the cilantro. I crave it constantly and get it a couple times a month

27- A Clean House. Doesn't happen often, but I love the feeling I get when it's clean, like I can breathe a little better or something

28- Room Service. I love when we stay in a hotel with room service. I will always order something - fries, nachos, pancakes, whatever

29- Rain. I love the way it smells and love it even more if it as accompanied by thunder and lightning

30- Naps. Nothing is sweeter than getting a few minutes of sleep during the day!

Guess that's it for now, maybe I'll do another one when I'm 40 or 50~

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a lot of fun going to Jeff's Aunt and Uncle's cabin for Memorial Day weekend. We went with Jeff's parents, Craig & Becky & kids, and Randy. The kids loved it! How can you not love cousins, four wheeling, fire, and a stream to throw rocks into?!

Ryan fell asleep on the way there holding Alex's hand. So cute!

Ryan's Birthday

Ryan turned 3 on May 20th. He is such a fun little boy and he ALWAYS has a smile on his face (except for the tired tantrums)! We just love him to pieces!!!
He had a lot of fun at a few different parties. We have a calendar that has picture from last year. For the month of May it has pictures of Ryan's 2nd birthday, when we went bowling and had basketball cupcakes. So he thought he had to do the same things as the pictures. Here are some pictures from his celebrations:
